Drives & Controls Specialties (DCS) was founded in 1980 as an Electrical and Mechanical Contractor specializing in control systems for the Packaging Industry. Over the years DCS has developed such innovative technologies as scrolled registered slitting and flexo-sleeve storage systems. DCS has been responsible for multiple printing press (flexo and gravure) relocations, upgrades, and installations. The company has also integrated and installed registration systems from multiple manufacturers.
DCS now provides services to many different types of industries. The company supplies innovative solutions to unique and varied problems. DCS offers complete service from design to manufacture and fabrication through installation, check-out, and start-up assistance. DCS employees have a wealth of experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
DCS’ progression through the years of providing complete mechanical and electrical services to a wide variety of industry has led to a multitude of DCS equipment designs and a wide range of experience for the company. We have provided production and packaging solutions for various products from paper and plastic to rubber-like roofing underlayment, wire, and wooden railroad ties. DCS has provided complete angleboard (both paper and plastic) lines. Our strong background in the print industry has led to many designs for printing presses from unwind to rewind. We have also provided unique storage solutions for a range of items.
DCS also offers expertise in experimental design, experimental set-up, data acquisition, and data analysis. The expertise extends to the use of various computer modeling methods for performance prediction and evaluation. This expertise is valuable from product development testing through quality control. DCS has applied this expertise to many situations from basic manufacturing machinery to rocket engines. We remain actively involved with professional societies such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) to stay abreast of current developments in these areas.
DCS is unique in supplying specialty equipment and services to specifically meet your needs. Our key is being able to provide both the mechanical and electrical aspects from start to finish. We are happy to help with the entire job or any part of a job where we can be effective.
